Our grandmother's jewelry is special, but is it meant to sit in
a drawer? And then what? Will you pass it down to someone so it still sits in a drawer, or they sell it, or throw
it away? Why not WEAR it and ENJOY it! If you don't have an emotional attachement, then why not sell it or SHARE it!
If not stored properly, vintage jewelry can get damaged and restoring takes a lot of time, patience and effort.
If not stored properly, it can get ruined. Even if it gets a little damp,it will tarnish and you may see signs of verdigris
which is green and develops from oxidation. The jewelry used in the pieces I sell have been extremely well taken care
of. I examine each piece under a magnifiying light. You'd be suprised what I find under that light! Hair,
hairspray, dust, dirt and otherstuff you may not want to know about! I clean it up and check all of the prongs and properly
repair any loose stones or cabachons. Sometimes you can see old glue on vintage jewelry. Sometimes it's from the manufacturer,
but it can also be from the owner replacing a loose stone with glue that is not the right formula for jewelry. Occasionally,
a stone has to be completely replaced because the foil on the back of the rhinestone is damaged. Occasionally, I will make a bracelet from a customer's own jewelry. But I will also
make sure they know that their jewelry could have a selling value to it. To most people, it doesn't matter, they just
want to wear or share the jewelry with siblings, or their children. Vintage jewelry is only worth as much as someone's
willing to pay. Emotional value is priceless. We
recycle so much these days! Instead of buying new, consider the new life of Little Inklings Vintage jewelry. This
wearable art is made and redesigned using QUALITY vintage jewelry from the 50's and 60's. Some of the jewelry is signed
Lisner, Coro, and Weiss to name a few. Each
piece of jewelry is one of a kind and will change with availablity. Pricing varies.
